There are so many different names for this dessert. But whether you call it puppy chow or muddy buddies, this White Chocolate Puppy Chow is such a great no bake recipe that is so easy to make.

I know that most people only make puppy chow during the holiday season, but I think that it makes the perfect snack for any time of the year.

We have a Tornado warnings here in Wisconsin all week, and so I can't go to the grocery store to stock up on my favorite snacks. The best part about this recipe is that it uses ingredients that I already have at home. I also love making puppy chow during the hot summer months when it is too hot to turn on the oven. Plus, this recipe is so versatile, you can alter it however you want to fit your tastes.

I promise you, this version will be one of your favorite puppy chow variations.

Tips

Storage: Store this puppy chow in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. I would not recommend storing in the fridge, as it will become soggy.

Use a large freezer bag for mixing. I find that using a large freezer-safe ziplock bag is the best way to mix the Chex mixture with the powdered sugar. If you use a thinner plastic bag, you risk the bag breaking and chocolate peanut butter mixture getting everywhere.

Add some toppings. There are so many different ways to switch up this recipe. If you want something for the Christmas season, I would add some crushed candy canes or festive M&Ms. For Halloween, some leftover Halloween candy is always a good idea.

Switch up the chocolate. This recipe is basically like a white chocolate version of the classic puppy chow recipe, but you can always swap the white chocolate chips. For the melted chocolate, I love both dark and milk chocolate as alternatives to white chocolate in this recipe.

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • ¼ cup salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar

Instructions
