I don't even remember the last time that I bought some store-bought ice cream. We must use the Ninja Creami ice cream machine at least 4 times every week during the summer. When it is hot out, all I want is homemade ice cream without much effort. This Ninja Creami Chocolate Ice Cream is the perfect solution to the summer heat.

If you don't have a Ninja Creami machine, you need to get one! Not only can you make these regular ice cream recipes, you can also make healthy Ninja Creami recipes too. Most of the time I will be making a healthy fruit based recipe for the kids, but when we want a treat I will make a creamy ice cream like this one. This 5 ingredient chocolate ice cream is the perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth on a hot day. Stay cool out there!

Ninja Creami Chocolate Ice Cream Ingredients

This creamy chocolate ice cream is just made with 5 simple ingredients. All you need is:

  • cream cheese
  • cocoa powder
  • white sugar
  • whole milk
  • heavy cream

Equipment

A bowl with rich and creamy Ninja Creami Chocolate Ice Cream.

Tips

Add some mix-ins. This recipe makes a great ice cream base for a variety of toppings. Some of my favorites are Oreos, peanut butter or sprinkles.

Don't be afraid to use the re-spin button. If the ice cream still looks powdery after the first spin, set it to respin. If the ice cream is still powdery after the second spin, try adding a dash of milk and setting it to re-spin again.

Make sure to place the Ninja Creami Pint on a flat surface in the freezer. This is very important, as the spinning blade needs to contact the frozen mixture evenly. If it doesn't freeze flat, it could damage your machine. Make sure you have a space in your freezer cleared so that your pint can stand up straight.

Substitute the liquid. Want a low calorie ice cream? (or a lower calorie option?) Try using coconut milk or oat milk instead of the whole milk, and use half and half instead of the cream. I actually usually use half and half cream when making these traditional ice cream recipes, and honestly don't notice a difference in texture.
