While it is not yet apple season, summer is fully here. That means that it's the time of year to be making all the ice cream recipes.

14 years ago, you wouldn't catch me eating this ice cream. That is because when I got my wisdom teeth taken out, I basically lived off of store bought caramel apple ice cream. And eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner really got me sick of all types of apple ice creams.

But for some reason, I was craving an apple flavor ice cream for the first time in 14 years. This is how this No Churn Apple Cinnamon Ice Cream was born. I can see myself making this ice cream until the end of summer, and probably even longer so that I can use up some seasonal flavors. Right now, I can't see myself getting sick of this flavor just yet.

Imagine this ice cream on top of a slice of apple pie? Sounds like perfection to me.

No Churn Apple Cinnamon Ice Cream Ingredients

You just need 7 simple ingredients to make this no churn ice cream recipe. All you need is:

  • chunks of apples
  • unsalted butter
  • ground cinnamon
  • brown sugar
  • vanilla extract
  • heavy cream (or heavy whipping cream)
  • sweetened condensed milk

Tips

Storage: store the ice cream in a freezer-safe container to avoid getting ice crystals on top of the ice cream. I like using an old ice cream container that I washed from the grocery store, but a loaf pan covered with plastic wrap works well too.

What type of apple to use? I love using granny smith apples because the apple mixture is sweet enough on its own. But I have done one granny smith apple and one sweet apple, and that worked very well. I am sure that whatever apple you use, it will work out well.

Variations

No Churn Apple Pie Ice Cream Recipe: Make the recipe according to the recipe card, but mix in some pie crust pieces when you fold in the apple mixture.

Caramel Apple Ice Cream Recipe: Craving caramel apples? Fold in some caramel sauce while mixing in the apples to get another fantastic ice cream variation.

Wonderful sweet treat, I did blend the apples up a bit after cooking as I prefer no big chunks. This tasted like and apple pie in an ice cream cone, really tasty!
