Do NOT judge these cookies by their cover. I assure you they taste magical.
These cookies were created because I have a problem. When I go into a grocery store, down the baking aisle, I always get a strange compulsion to buy all the baking ingredients. Like, I have no recipe in mind, I just want to buy them.
And since I somehow opened my shopping bag and found some molasses inside, I thought that I needed to find something to put it in.

Enter these Molasses Chocolate Chip Cookies. Now I know that they don’t look so great, being all flat and all, but they taste divine! I wasn’t going to post this, but I liked them so much that I thought it would be a shame NOT to post them.
Plus, you know. I need more cookie recipes in my life.

My favourite molasses cookies are super flat too – so I know these must taste as good as you say! Love them!
Looking at these gorgeous pictures, I get such a crave for the cookies.
They look so addictive 🙂
Ooo, I love the addition of molasses! Must make for one super soft, spiced chocolate chip cookie. Great recipe!
I have never found a cookie with chocolate that didn't meet my needs. I have no doubt that these would more than suffice! And as for your shopping foray-I do the same thing. Right now I have black rice, chia seeds and something else that I have no idea what to do with but I thought I needed them at the time! I hate to have a bare spot in my pantry!
The baking aisle always lures me in, too! You're right, one can never have too many cookie recipes 🙂
I bet they taste amazing! …and they don't look bad to me. I can see theses cookies must be yummy.
Oh and btw, when I'm doing my grocery shopping I have the same 'problem'…every new ingredient and baking supply I see has to be mine! lol.
xoxo
Love the taste of molasses…the cookies look fantastic!

These look divine – what are you talking about being all flat? They're cookies 😀 And they look ridiculously chewy, which is only a good thing 😀 Someone brought homemade cookies to a Game of Thrones evening the other day, and they were so good! We all need more homemade cookies in our lives, thanks! x
'The cover' is really good! These cookies both look and sound delicious!
Cathleen, I happen to like flat looking cookies and yours are a beauty to me! Molasses, eh? I've seen them but I didn't know what to do with them. But now I know, right? hee..hee..
Love these cookies:)

These cookies look fantastic! I use molasses frequently when baking, because the first year of a kid's life they can't have honey, and I just got into the habit.
I always have a tin of molasses in the pantry because I really love them. These cookies look fantastic, Cathleen.
Who doesn't need more cookie recipes in their life? 😉 Always good to have loads of baking stuff on hand. "Cause you just never know when inspiration will strike. This looks wonderful — thanks.
