Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

Since we already celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving last month, we won't be doing a big Thanksgiving dinner today. I was thinking of making either a pumpkin pie or a pecan pie, but I just didn't have the energy. Especially because it is my son's third birthday tomorrow. I will be spending the night making cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles, as per his request.

But because I also wanted something Thanksgiving themed today, I made these simple turkey cookies out of pre-made dough. I saw these adorable turkey cookies at my grocery store, and I just had to buy them!

These Easy Thanksgiving Sugar and Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect cookie for this time of year. Made with only 2 ingredients, I think that they are going to be my new favorite cookies for Thanksgiving.

Tips

Storage: Store any leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.

Make homemade chocolate chip cookies. Instead of using pre-made chocolate chip cookie dough, make homemade cookies! Find your best chocolate chip cookie recipe and replace it with the Pillsbury dough.

Switch out the Turkey sugar cookies. Use whatever sugar cookie you want for your favorite holiday! I love the Christmas tree ones for Christmas time, or the ghost one for Halloween.

Add some extra chocolate. Want to take these easy Thanksgiving cookies up another level? Top them with chocolate chips! I love either mini chocolate chips or a couple of white chocolate chips on top. If you wanted to make them extra special, try dipping the bottoms of the cooled cookies in melted chocolate.
