I have been making so many oatmeal recipes on my blog when I noticed that I haven't actually made just a plain, no frills, baked oatmeal. So this recipe is definitely way past due.

Plus, now I can pretend to be one of those bloggers that preps all their meals for the week. I definitely want to be that blogger..

Though this is not my favorite oatmeal (which is currently my ginger nectarine baked oatmeal).

This recipe (unlike my favourite oatmeal recipe above) can be made year round. And I really hope you make it year round. I certainly will! It is a solid, no fail breakfast.

Okay, actually maybe not no fail. The first time I made this, I forgot to add the sugar. Biggest mistake ever. It tasted awful!

So let's clarify this recipe, so that you don't make it wrong like I did. All you need is:

  • oats
  • brown and white sugar
  • milk
  • butter
  • egg
  • baking powder
  • salt
  • vanilla extract
  • cinnamon

That's it! So simple, and so delicious.
