I think it was last week that I sent out my weekly newsletter proclaiming my love of Almond Joy Candy Bars. And this week is no different. I can't get enough of them, they have to be one of my favorite candy bars out there.

But now that it's getting so hot outside, I don't feel like walking all the way to my local grocery store for my Almond Joy fix. This is where these Almond Joy Nutella Cups have come into play.

They taste almost exactly like Almond Joy bars, but you can make them at home in under 5 minutes. That is definitely a win in my books!

Almond Joy Nutella Cups Ingredients

You just need 4 simple ingredients to make these homemade Almond Joys. All you need is:

Equipment

  • mini muffin tins
  • mini cupcake liners
  • medium glass bowl

Tips

Storage: Store these Nutella cups in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.

Use a mini cookie scoop. If you are looking for a better way to scoop the melted chocolate hazelnut spread mixture into the muffin cups, my mini cookie scoop has been a game changer. Not only can you get an equal amount of chocolate in each cup, it is a lot less messy than trying to scoop it in with a spoon.

Variations

Use other varieties of coconut. You can use whatever coconut you have on hand for the coconut mixture. Shredded sweet coconut or coconut flakes are my favorite substitute.

Try a different nut in place of the almond. I love the crunchy almond on top of each Nutella cup, but you can definitely swap it out for whatever you have on hand. Some substitutes that I have loved are walnuts, peanuts or pistachios.
