Just when we thought that the hot summer days are behind us, it is still 30 (or 86℉) most days where we live. It is just hot day after hot day here. I am so ready for sweater weather, but it is just never coming.

On the plus side, while I wait for cooler weather I will be cooling down with this Ninja Creami Strawberry Sorbet. This creamy sorbet is the best part about this late summer we have been having.

This healthy treat is perfect for the whole family. Because it doesn't have much added sugar, I feel good about giving it to both of my young sons. They consider it a great sweet treat, and I get to satisfy my sweet tooth with a healthier sorbet. It's a win-win all around.

Ninja Creami Strawberry Sorbet Ingredients

This simple strawberry sorbet is just made with 2 simple ingredients. All you need is:

  • fresh strawberries (or thawed frozen strawberries)
  • maple syrup

Tips

Swap out the maple syrup. Don't have maple syrup? You can replace it with the same amount of agave syrup, liquid sugar or cane sugar. I have also heard that monk fruit sweetener works well as a substitute to.

Use a different fruit. Instead of ripe strawberries, you can use any other type of fresh fruit you like. I particularly love blueberries or raspberries, or even a blend of berries.

Ninja Creami prep tip: When you freeze the container, for best results, place pint on a level surface. This will ensure that the strawberry mixture freezes evenly, and give the sorbet a creamy texture.

Don't be afraid to use the re-spin function. If the mixture is powdery after the first spin, press the re-spin button until it has a smooth texture.

Which Ninja Creami machine do I use? Since both machines have the sorbet setting, either the original or the deluxe version works for this recipe. If you wanted to alter this recipe for the deluxe machine, mix more strawberries into your blender and pour the mixture into your pint until it reaches the max fill line.

Storing leftover sorbet: Place storage lid over any leftovers you have, then freeze for at least 24 hours. When ready to eat, place in the Ninja Creami machine again and select sorbet.
