Can you believe that you can make a 1 ingredient orange sorbet? I didn't! Until I made this one. And trust me, you are going to be making this Ninja Creami sorbet recipe on repeat after you try it.

Ever since getting my Ninja Creami ice cream machines, I have been making my fair share of sorbet recipes. But when making fruit sorbets, I have always added more basic ingredients. Clearly, usually more simple ingredients than just the one in this recipe. But let me tell you, this is what makes this Ninja Creami Cara Cara Orange Sorbet one of the best things I have made in a long time.

The first time I made this, I bought a citrus variety pack from the grocery store and mixed them all. I then realized that I wanted a more concentrated orange flavor, and saw the beautiful color of the Cara Cara oranges. This is what made this one such a gorgeous sorbet. The great thing about it is that I feel good about sharing it with my baby too. With no added sugar and a refreshing texture, I think I am going to be making this in the summer too to beat the summer heat.

Tips

Can I use another orange? Yes, as long as you are using fresh oranges! The orange juice in the oranges is important, because you need to make sure that it covers all of the solids in the Ninja Creami pint container. Blood oranges are great because they have such a beautiful color, but navel oranges work too. I wouldn't recommend mandarin oranges because they aren't juicy enough.

Increase the sugar content. If you like a sweeter sorbet, try varying the amount of sugar by adding in some simple syrup made with regular sugar, or a healthy sweetener if you prefer. I like this sorbet without any added sugar, but it really is a matter of preference.

To get the creamy texture: if your mixture looks too crumbly, press the re-spin button until you reach your desired consistency. If you prefer a soft serve texture, you may need to re-spin it more than once.

Make it taste like a creamsicle. If you like orange creamsicle ice cream, try adding in some whole milk or coconut milk before freezing.
