Easy Vegan Chocolate Mousse recipe. Made with with only 6 ingredients, this quick and simple dessert idea is gluten free and so creamy.
I can’t believe that it has taken me so long for me to post this recipe.
I think that I made this Vegan Chocolate Mousse recipe way back in March? But with everything that has been going on in the world, my blog needed to take a backseat for the planning required to keep my class on track while doing online learning.
Boy do I need this mousse right now!
I love this mousse for the summer for so many reasons.
One, it is no bake.
Do I really need to keep going?
It is also made with pantry essentials, so you won’t need to go out to the grocery stores for more ingredients. Which is always a win, given how unpleasant it is to go shopping these days.
All you need to make this mousse is:
- almond milk
- chocolate chips (vegan if you want to make this recipe vegan)
- aquafaba (liquid from a chickpea can)
- salt
- vinegar
- cream of tartar
That’s it!!
Usually when I want a vegan, no bake recipe, I turn to my Vegan Coconut Flour Pumpkin Truffles. But since I want to save pumpkin recipes for the fall (and I will have a LOT of pumpkin recipes for you all!), this mousse is all I’m making lately.

Vegan Chocolate Mousse
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup almond milk
- 150 g vegan chocolate chips
- 1 cup aquafaba
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 tsp white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
Instructions
- In a microwave safe bowl, microwave the almond milk and chocolate chips in 30 second intervals, mixing until smooth.
- In a bowl of a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, whip the aquafaba, salt, vinegar and cream of tartar until very still peaks form.
- Once the chocolate mixture has reached room temperature, mix in a couple of spoonfuls of the stiff aquafaba mixture and fold in using a rubber spatula until just combined. Portion into 6 bowls and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
Oh yum!! This looks so light and flavorful, and chocolate mousse is one of my favorite desserts! Saving to make soon!
