This Pomegranate and Apple Crisp is the perfect dessert to make when you have apples to use up. Don’t forget the scoop of ice cream on top!

I’m giving in. I’m breathing fall in. Because what better time than now? When temperatures are dropping to near freezing, and I can’t put on enough sweaters.
Also, all of my clothes are falling apart!! This is the count so far:
First, 3 ripped pants. And not the cool kind of rip. I’m talking about the one right down the derriere area. Sexy, right?
Second, 2 ripped sweaters. Somehow only the armpits got the full effect of the ripping, but I have one sweater which is ripping from the sleeves and the left chest area (somehow..). I haven’t thrown this one out… yet. Buying new shoes has just been the icing to my frosty cold cake. Why do I need new boots? There is a hole on the bottom of both of them. I can’t walk outside for more than 3 minutes without my feet getting soaked.

Maybe my bad luck is stemming from the fact that I have yet to embrace fall. No pumpkin recipes, no apple recipes…nothing. To me, embracing fall is making something with apples. Something comforting. Something like a warm apple crisp.
I am almost embarrassed to admit that I have never tried apple crisp until a couple of years ago…and even then, I have never made it myself.
Well this is changing right here, right now. I can practically smell the future apple crisps I will be making after this Pomegranate and Apple Crisp.

I love an aromatic, comforting crisp! I’d never thought of using pomegranate seeds in the desserts. Loved the pop of sweetness and color it added to the dish!

Hi Cathleen, Love your apple crisp with the pomegranate, juice and the seeds; which is so traditional at this time of year. I would certainly skip the ice cream in this freezing weather where you are, and just enjoy it with a nice hot cup of tea…and as for sweaters and boots that you desperately are in need of; have you tried Goodwill in your area?…we always have an abundance of beautiful sweaters, and boots that are like brand new, and I don't mean just any old ones, but 'name brands' at a fraction of a cost from new. My daughter found a pair of Uggs boots for $24.99 and they were 'new'…really! These type of boots retail close to $200. We have at least 3 Goodwill stores in our area, and it sure is worth looking around; you never know what you can find. I usually stay away from the local little thrift shops…they never seem to have anything 'worthwhile' but Goodwill always has some treasures that you did not expect to find! Thanks for sharing your yummy recipe…will be making it soon! xo
I've discovered a few ripped pairs of jeans also. NO FUN. Well, at least this crisp would make me feel better!
Mmmm, crisps and crumbles are the ultimate fall recipes! I don't think it was bad Autumn Karma that knocked your socks off, maybe simply too much time in the kitchen to notice what was going on with the wardrobe? 😛 It happens to all of us, and I have recently had to buy new shoes, jeans, and am saving up to continue the whole clothes-acquiring-thing, I can't STAND shopping thouhg, and trying it all on and stuff?
Nah, I'll just wear my fluffy poncho, brew some chai and eat apple crisp – much better way to spend time ^ ^ Thanks for the recipe Cathleen! x
Wow, that is a yummy dessert! And go get some new sweaters and pants LOL!
