Back when I was 14, I had my first job at a bubble tea place at the mall. One of the biggest perks of that job was that we got to make ourselves a free drink every time we worked.

In the beginning, I hated bubble tea, so what I would make myself every day were milkshakes.

Keep in mind, this is a really skinny 14 year old who didn't know better and never gained weight. I am not advocating this as a lifestyle choice (but if only...)

Ever since I quit, I haven't really made many milkshakes at home. Which is really weird because what is better than a drink which is pretty much purely blended ice cream? I'm always on board for drinkable desserts, and drinkable desserts involving everyone's favorite cookie? Swoooon. Because who wants to spend a lot of time in the kitchen to get their sugar fix when it's such a nice day?

I am so ready for you, summer. With this Oreo milkshake in one hand and my sunscreen in the other. Just the essentials for a hot summer day.

Oreo Milkshake Ingredients

You just need 3 simple ingredients to make this thick Oreo milkshake recipe. All you need is:

  • vanilla ice cream
  • Oreos
  • whole milk

Tips

Don't have a blender? You can make this just as well in a food processor as well.

For a more creamy texture: change the amount of ice cream that you use. The more ice cream you add, the thicker the mixture will be, resulting in a very creamy Oreo shake. Alternatively, you could decrease the amount of milk you add in.

Variations

Use different ice cream flavors. If you really want a more pronounced Oreo flavor, use a cookies and cream flavor ice cream. I also love using chocolate ice cream in the milkshake mixture for a more chocolatey flavor.

Add in some fruit. I love the fruit and Oreo combo, so adding in some fresh berries will take this cookies and cream milkshake to the next level.
