Oreo Milkshake

Back when I was 14, I had my first job at a bubble tea place at the mall. One of the biggest perks of that job was that we got to make ourselves a free drink every time we worked.
In the beginning, I hated bubble tea, so what I would make myself every day were milkshakes.
Keep in mind, this is a really skinny 14 year old who didn't know better and never gained weight. I am not advocating this as a lifestyle choice (but if only...)
Ever since I quit, I haven't really made many milkshakes at home. Which is really weird because what is better than a drink which is pretty much purely blended ice cream? I'm always on board for drinkable desserts, and drinkable desserts involving everyone's favorite cookie? Swoooon. Because who wants to spend a lot of time in the kitchen to get their sugar fix when it's such a nice day?
I am so ready for you, summer. With this Oreo milkshake in one hand and my sunscreen in the other. Just the essentials for a hot summer day.

Oreo Milkshake Ingredients
You just need 3 simple ingredients to make this thick Oreo milkshake recipe. All you need is:
- vanilla ice cream
- Oreos
- whole milk

Tips
Don't have a blender? You can make this just as well in a food processor as well.
For a more creamy texture: change the amount of ice cream that you use. The more ice cream you add, the thicker the mixture will be, resulting in a very creamy Oreo shake. Alternatively, you could decrease the amount of milk you add in.
Variations
Use different ice cream flavors. If you really want a more pronounced Oreo flavor, use a cookies and cream flavor ice cream. I also love using chocolate ice cream in the milkshake mixture for a more chocolatey flavor.
Add in some fruit. I love the fruit and Oreo combo, so adding in some fresh berries will take this cookies and cream milkshake to the next level.

I really don't make "enough" milkshakes either (but what is enough). I think this oreo version needs to be next on my agenda.
I'm going to find an excuse to make this!
My husband is shake crazy. He probably makes them 3-4 times a week. Yes, we will die young. Worth it.
Ooh, I have to make this for my son! He loves oreos 😉
Homemade milkshakes are the best!!
shakes couldn't be easier to make and personalize yet i don't ever make them for myself either! this one looks perfect.

What a fun milkshake! I really love the addition of oreo!
It is dessert and drink in one! Oreo ice cream.. 😀 delicious thing!
Mmm, I remember making milkshakes at home. Icecream, milk, and sometimes a little bit of hot chocolate powder, mash mash mash with a fork (kitchen machines and mixers were still a little out of my repetoire at this point...And the fork worked surprisingly well :P) and it was the most delicious thing on a hot Summer's day! Or just when I needed comfort in a tall glass, mmm! x
OH! And I only tried bullbe tea for the first time this year. I got the "fruit" based one, which was a little too sweet for me. Next time I'll go for one that is milk based! Have you since come to like the bubbles? x
Yes I have!! Being exposed to bubble tea all day definitely sparked my love for it now
Oohh..la...la....who can resist this milkshake? Definitely not me and working at a bubble tea or any milkshake place would be an occupational hazard for a fatty like me hee..hee...
Why didn't I ever think of this?! It's like a drinkable cookies n' cream ice cream. Yum. 🙂
Whattt. I super love bubble milk tea. I`m actually quite addicted to them. LOL.
But, Oreo milkshakes? I`m down for those, too. Oreo, anything, really! 😛
Hi Cathleen , Love milkshakes , the blender is out and ready , Thanks for sharing 🙂
We have a place that serves bubble tea here and I've never gone in because I'm not sure what that is. Haha I love milkshakes and I know my daughter would love to make one of these today 😀
