I have found a new family favorite dinner. And my favorite thing about it is that it is made in a large baking dish, meaning there will likely be enough leftovers for future meals, or to bring to work with me the next day.

Right now, it is hard to find something that both my baby and toddler will like to eat. They are both turning into such picky eaters, so once we find something that they both love we will make it over and over. So you bet that we have already made this Baked Pizza Pasta over and over this past month.

This is one of our go-to weeknight meal. Super easy prep, under 10 ingredients and so good! It's always a hit, especially with small kids.

Tips

What pasta shape is best? I used ziti pasta in this recipe, but penne pasta or rotini pasta would be great in this pizza pasta casserole. You can even use whole wheat pasta for a healthier version, or gluten-free pasta if you want to make it gluten free.

Replace the pasta sauce. Honestly, any red sauce would work. Marinara sauce, tomato sauce or pizza sauce are great substitutes in a pinch.

Top with your favorite pizza toppings. While we love pepperoni in this house, some of my favorite toppings to add as well are black olives, red bell peppers and spicy Italian sausage.

Add some more spices. This is a good base recipe, but you can always add your favorite spices to jazz it up a little. I love adding Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes and fresh basil. But even some salt and freshly cracked black pepper goes a long way.
