Are you finished shopping for all of your friends and family yet? These are gifts that are sure to please any avid baker friend.
I am so ready for the holidays! I have bought (almost) everyone a Christmas gift, and am looking forward to food, drinks and family time!
But for those of you who are still trying to find a gift for your loved ones, here is a list of some of my favorite things that I have bought for myself in the past year. Foodie friends would be delighted!
This is honestly my favorite thing in my kitchen. With it, I make things like peanut butter, guacamole, and black bean brownies! And even things that might seem weird to use a food processor for. Like making the dough of biscuits all nice and crumbly without using a pastry cutter. You can also shred carrots in a breeze, which is also why I bring this out every time I make this carrot cake.
KitchenAid Stand Mixer
This is another item I use almost everyday at home. And right now, amazon.com has this item on sale! At first, I thought I was spending too much money on something I could really do by hand. But trust me. I think every kitchen should have this stand mixer! One of my favorite things to do with this stand mixer is use the dough hook to make my jalapeno popper skillet pizza, which appears in my kitchen at least once per month. It is also great when using the wire whip, you can whip up this no churn vanilla bean ice cream in no time.
Medium Red Spatula
Along with a stand mixer, I think that everyone should have a good spatula. I used to have this dollar store spatula that made baking so upsetting when I wanted to lick the cookie dough off the spatula just before I washed it up. I wouldn't taste the cookie dough: all I could taste was rubber. Gross! So when I bought this spatula a couple of months ago, I couldn't be more delighted! Now I can taste the cookie dough without a gross rubber aftertaste. (My favorite cookie dough to eat right out the bowl is my chia seed peanut butter oatmeal cookies)
Silpat Premium Non-Stick Silicone Baking Mat
Wilton 8-Inch Square Cake Pan
This is another baking essential in my house! I always use it when I make cookies or biscuits... basically anything that requires a cookie sheet. You can see me using them with my inside out chocolate chip cookies and my oatmeal cookies, among many others.
I don't where I would be without my 8 inch square pan! This is one of the pans that I reach for the most in my house. Whether I am making biscoff swirl brownies, baked nectarine oatmeal, or even tuna enchiladas, this pan doesn't disappoint.
Glass Pie Plate
I only just bought this pie plate, and I'm already in love. I have actually made a pear and dulce de leche cake in it, as well as made my butter crumble apple pie again (because that is my absolute favorite pie to make!) I think 2016 will be a year of pie making for me... and hopefully to anyone who receives this as a gift!
Whenever I want a fun treat with my tea or coffee, I pull out my donut pan. Not only is it healthier than the deep fried donuts that you would get in your local coffee shop, you can customize it to the way you like it. My favorite doughnuts to make with this pan are my cinnamon roll doughnuts and my browned butter apple doughnuts.a Rafflecopter giveaway
These are my favorite way to color food! You don't need much at all! Just a couple of drops will make your food into the vibrant green, blue, red.. whatever you want! I like that this kit has black, which I use for my coal rice krispies. Just in time for Christmas! Another Christmas treat I use this food coloring on is my Rice Krispie Christmas Trees. The green really makes the icing pop!
Ateco 14-Piece Cake Decorating Set
Nikon D3200 Digital SLR Camera
Speaking of icing, does your foodie friend have a piping bag and tips? If not, this kit is perfect! Quite inexpensive, and has 12 different tips to experiment with! I am always reaching for a new one to see what I can do with it. It also comes with a manual to show what each tip can be used for, but I mostly google and watch videos of people so I can practice techniques. Such a fun way to spend the holidays!
Now that you have made a whole bunch of food, you should take a picture! This is the camera I bought 3 months ago, and I love using it! It is very easy to use for beginners, which is great because I am a super novice using a camera. I plan on learning the ins and outs of using manual mode, but for now, I am using it as a point and shoot camera. Which still takes amazing shots!
