As promised, a pie recipe using my easy pie crust recipe.
So with the super easy pie crust recipe comes a super easy pie recipe! Seriously, the hardest part about this recipe is peeling and slicing the apples.
And yes, I do know that I am using apples way out of season, but I have also made a strawberry pie… which I will post later this week (stay tuned!)
But until then, I will be using the huge load of apples that I bought last week. And pie, in my opinion, is the best way to use any excess fruit you have lying around.
I kid you not, this pie would work as a “love potion” of sorts. Give a slice of this pie to anyone, and I dare them to not fall in love with it. Or you. Or at the very least not ask you for the recipe.
And it is so easy too!! When I think pie, I usually think about having to dedicate a good half of my day to the process. This pie? It takes maybe a little over an hour, but 45 minutes of that time is just the pie sitting in the oven! Your work is over in around 15 minutes! This is the perfect apple pie recipe to make when you are short on time. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.

Butter Crumble Apple Pie Ingredients
You only need a couple of pantry essentials to make this apple crumb pie recipe. All you need is:
- flaky pie crust (either a homemade pie crust or store-bought pie crust)
Apple Filling:
- Granny smith apples
- white sugar
- ground cinnamon
- all purpose flour
Crumble Topping
- white sugar
- all purpose flour
- butter
Equipment
- apple peeler
- pie plate (or aluminum pie shell if using store-bought butter pie crust)
- medium bowl
- large bowl
- pastry blender (optional)

Tips
Storage: Allow the Butter Crumble Apple Pie to cool to room temperature, then cover with aluminum foil or plastic wrap and store in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Try different kinds of apple for the apple slices. I always use Granny Smith because I like tart apples in my apple pie, but any apple will work for the sliced apples. Just make sure to use crunchy apples, otherwise the apple juices may cause the bottom crust to have a soggy bottom. The kind of apples that I would try would be pink lady or honeycrisp apples.
Variations
Make a traditional apple pie. To make a classic apple pie, add a top crust instead of using a crumb topping.
Caramel Apple Pie: If you wanted a caramel apple pie, just mix in 1/2 cup caramel sauce to the apple pie filling.

What a fantastic looking pie! I always prefer a crumb topping over crust. And I agree; peeling and cutting the apple is the worst part of making the pie.

Pies are always a winner, especially ones that are easy to make!
