I know. It's not fall yet. Halloween is still a month away. But I saw some Thanksgiving sugar cookies for sale at my local grocery store, so I am going headfirst into Thanksgiving recipes.

To be fair, I am from Canada, and in Canada Thanksgiving is in early October. The great thing about being a Canadian living in the USA is that I can celebrate Thanksgiving twice. And in terms of food holidays, I think that Thanksgiving is the best one by far.

So here is my first Thanksgiving recipe of the year. These Thanksgiving Chocolate Chip Sugar Cookie Cups are the perfect size to bring to your next party or cookie exchanges. The best thing about them is that they are so versatile. You can really use any Pillsbury cookies on top of the cookies. Switch it up based on the occasion! They will be a huge hit, I promise.

Tips

Storage: Store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

Make your own chocolate chip cookie dough. Use your favorite classic chocolate chip cookie recipe for the cookie base if you wanted to put in the extra work!

Do you need cooking spray? You actually do not because the butter in the cookies helps release the cookies from the muffin tins.

Make mini cookie cups in mini muffin tins. Instead of using a standard sized muffin pan, use mini muffin pans. You may need to cut off some of the edges of of the Thanksgiving sugar cookies to fit the size of the mini muffin cups, but it is definitely worth it for the cuteness factor. You will just need to adjust the bake time to reflect on the smaller size.
