Flaky easy pie crust, ready for the oven in 10 minutes, with no rolling pin required! Can be used in place of a storeboght pie crust.

I’m sure you’ve all heard of the New Horizons Pluto Flyby. If you haven’t, well, it must mean that you aren’t living with my boyfriend. He has been counting down the days until July 14th: the day that the New Horizons space probe gets to it’s closest approach to Pluto.

But have you seen the new picture?? The closest we have been to Pluto, and the photos are unreal! There is the new closeup on the mountains and the one that makes it look like there is a heart on Pluto. It is an exciting time for space.
Time to celebrate this historical day. Maybe with pie??

But before you make pie, you need a killer, flaky pie crust. And if that is what you are looking for, you have come to the right place.
This might be one of my favorite pie crusts to make! Reasons being:
- It is ready in under 10 minutes
- You don’t need to bring out your rolling pin!
- If the dough tears, who cares? Just patch it up with some more dough, and you are good to go.
I have made 2 pies in the past 3 days with this pie crust (coming up later!!) so you KNOW it’s good. And if NASA comes up with some better photos of Pluto tomorrow, well. I think that would call for another pie. Don’t you agree?

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour and the salt.
- Add in the water and oil, and mix until fully combined. Form into a ball.
- Grease your pie pan, and place the ball of dough on top. Punch down the ball, and spread the dough to cover the pie pan (I used a quiche pan), pressing the dough up around the sides of the pan.

I’m not much of a baker. What temperature should I cook this on? I’m trying to make a quiche. Do I bake it all the way and then add quiche ingredients?
I use this to make quiche all the time! What I usually do is bake this crust for 15-20 minutes at 400F. Then turn the oven down to 375F and bake it with the quiche mixture for35-45 minutes!
Thank you for posting this simple and easy to make crust. It’s so versatile. It’s definitely going in the file!
Can you refrigerate or freeze this to use later? I accidentally made too much.
I have never tried it, but I don’t see why not!!
Now that is my kind of crust! thanks for sharing!
Thanks Lynda! I hope you try it out!
This 10-minute pie looks amazing, hoping to try it out next week!
