Here are two things that I don’t do often: go to McDonalds and buy refrigerator biscuits. And yet, here it is. A recipe that combines both of these experiences.
But when I went to McDonalds and tried their cinnamon melts for the first time, I thought: there must some way to make this at home! Because I don’t live close enough to a McDonalds to justify taking a trip there just to get another taste of these delicious cinnamon melts!
Along with the McDonalds cinnamon melts, I am also a huge fan of recipes that take 30 minutes or less to make. Especially when the recipe can be made in the morning in the time I take to get ready for work. That way when I am ready to walk out the door, I can enjoy a warm breakfast of something resembling cinnamon rolls, but WAY easier to make!
I mean, one of the reasons I don’t make cinnamon rolls is because they take so freaking long. Well my friends, that is a problem of the past!
I might just start buying those pillsbury biscuits more often, so I can make this over and over. For lazy weekend mornings, or for when you have unexpected guests, this recipe is sure to please.
Now I’m off to make another batch! Who said there is no time to bake on the weekdays? They obviously never tried this recipe!
Easy Cinnamon Melts
Ingredients
Cinnamon Melts
- 1 (12 oz) can refrigerator biscuits
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp salted butter, melted
Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 Tbsp salted butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp milk of choice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8×8 baking dish and set aside.
- Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cinnamon and brown sugar until fully combined. Add in the biscuits, and toss to coat completely.
- Pour the biscuits into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the melted butter on top of the biscuits.
- Place in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are baked through.
- For the glaze: beat together the glaze ingredients until smooth.
- Pour the glaze evenly over the slightly cooled biscuits.

I totally get you. I like to think of myself as someone who would prefer to make things from scratch – and I am – but that doesn't mean that stuff like these cinnamon rolls aren't incredibly tasty. Those people spend a lot of time and money researching how to make things appealing. My downfall is Cool Whip. Woah, it just occurred to me … I could probably put Cool Whip on these…
