Easy Crunchy Peanut Butter Pretzel Truffles recipe. The sweet and salty combination makes for the perfect dessert or snack idea.
I had a lot of pretzels left over from our impromptu movie night this week. And because I don’t want to eat them all in one sitting, I thought that I would make some treats with them.
These Crunchy Peanut Butter Pretzel Truffles are my new favorite dessert recipe to make. If you know me, you know that I love a good sweet and salty combo, so these truffles are perfect for me. They have the perfect combination of salty pretzels mixed with the sweetness of the chocolate. I just can’t get enough!
They are kind of like the Ben and Jerry’s chubby hubby ice cream, but in truffle form. Need I say more?
Crunchy Peanut Butter Pretzel Truffles Ingredients
These peanut-butter pretzel truffles are made with only 7 simple ingredients. All you need is:
- crushed pretzels
- crunchy peanut butter
- salted butter
- brown sugar
- powdered sugar
- semi-sweet chocolate chips
- coconut oil
Tips
Storage: Store these peanut butter-pretzel truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. I wouldn’t store them at room temperature, because the fluctuations in temperature and humidity might make the chocolate melt. They also freeze well. Just place them in a large freezer safe ziplock bag, then store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Use a cookie scoop for uniform truffles. I usually use a medium cookie scoop to make the peanut butter balls, but if you wanted smaller (and more) truffles, use a small cookie scoop. This way, all of your truffles will look the same, making them look more professional.
How to make the pretzel bits. My favorite ways to crush the pretzels into small pieces is either using a food processor, or placing the pretzels between parchment paper then crushing them using a rolling pin.
Variations
Experiment with the chocolate for the chocolate coating. When making the melted chocolate mixture, try using another type of chocolate instead. I love milk chocolate or dark chocolate, but white chocolate would also look beautiful for the holiday season.
Switch up the peanut butter. You can use creamy peanut butter in place of crunchy, but you can also be more creative than that. Try switching it out for another nut butter, or even cookie butter.
