This Candy Cane Saltine Toffee is made with just 5 simple ingredients. It is a great recipe to make as homemade gifts over the holidays.

You may have heard this called Christmas Crack candy, but this Candy Cane Saltine Toffee is probably my new favorite holiday treat. The best part about it is how easy it is to make!
Last week, I made this Christmas cracker candy 3 times for my family to enjoy and as a holiday gift for the neighbor. It is such a simple recipe, that I know that I will keep making it over and over throughout the year.
So if you need a treat to bring to your holiday parties, I promise you that this recipe is always a hit!

Candy Cane Saltine Toffee Ingredients
This Candy Cane Saltine Cracker Toffee recipe is just made with a handful of ingredients. All you need is:
- saltine crackers (aka: soda cracker)
- salted or unsalted butter
- dark brown sugar
- semi-sweet chocolate chips
- candy canes

Tips
Storage: Store this saltine cracker candy in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
What kind of crackers to use: I like using salty crackers to make it into a salty and sweet treat. You can also use club crackers for a more buttery taste, or graham crackers for a sweeter treat. I wouldn’t recommend Ritz crackers as they won’t cover the baking sheet evenly.
Use different toppings. This saltine toffee recipe makes the perfect base for different flavors. Instead of the candy canes, top this saltine toffee bark with your favorite topping. I love sprinkling crunchy pecans, festive sprinkles or toffee bits on top, but you can experiment with your favorite ingredients.
Swap out the chocolate chips. Try different flavors of chocolate for the chocolate layer. If you wanted the same look, try using milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips. But I’ve had success with white chocolate and peanut butter chips too!
