We are getting to the end of summer holiday for me and the kids. I work as a high school teacher, and as of this year, so will my husband! He starts next week while I start the following week, so we are trying to soak up as much of summer as possible.
I've been making a few no bake treats lately for the kids, like my Ninja Creami Birthday Cake Ice Cream and my S'mores Mug Cake. But I think my kids' favorite thing that I have been making lately is this Ninja Slushi Virgin Mimosa.
We love this recipe because it makes a small batch for the kids, but you can also easily scale it up for a party. Plus, with only 2 ingredients, it is such an easy last minute drink recipe that everyone will love!
Key Ingredients

- Orange juice: Make sure to use orange juice without the pulp to achieve the best consistency possible.
- Lemon-lime soda: I use Sprite, but any generic brand of lemon-lime soda will work here.
How To Make Ninja Slushi Virgin Mimosa

Step 1: Add the orange juice and the lemon-lime soda to the vessel of your Ninja slushi machine.

Step 2: Press the Slush preset. Once the machine beeps, serve immediately.

Ninja Slushi Virgin Mimosa Expert Tips
Chill the ingredients first. Make sure both the orange juice and the lemon-lime soda have been chilled in the fridge before making this recipe. Starting with cold liquids will drastically reduce the freezing time in the machine.
Avoid diet or zero-sugar drinks. Drinks that are made with artificial sweeteners may freeze too solid or slush unevenly.
Use a thick straw. The slushed drink may get pretty thick. Sometimes you can get away with a regular straw, but I always have these Boba Straws on hand in case the drink gets too thick.
Swap out the juice. Instead of orange juice, try pineapple or cranberry juice! You can also mix different juices for your own unique flavor.

Ninja Slushi Virgin Mimosa Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups lemon-lime soda
- 1 ¼ cups orange juice pulp free
Instructions
- Pour all of the ingredients into the Ninja Slushi vessel.
- Select the Slush preset. Once the machine beeps, serve immediately.
Notes
- Chill all the ingredients before adding them to the Ninja Slushi vessel. Cold ingredients will significantly cut down on the freezing time.
- Use a large straw if you are going to be drinking the slushi through a straw. I like these Boba Straws.
- Make sure the orange juice is pulp free. Pulp can clog the Ninja Slushi machine's mechanism or prevent the slushy from achieving a smooth, consistent texture.
- Ensure that you are not using diet or zero-sugar drinks in this recipe. Artificial sweeteners may freeze too solid or slush unevenly.

My kids have been requesting this drink every day this summer. Such a quick and easy non-alcoholic drink!
