Christmas Eve and I am still posting about Christmas. How last minute am I? Is there anyone even here reading this, or am I talking to myself?

But if there are in fact a couple of you who want quick and easy last minute Christmas recipes, these Peppermint Pretzel Christmas Wreaths are exactly what you need.

Typically, my Christmas recipes either involve Rice Krispies, Christmas Sprinkles or Brownies. This year, I had almost zero time to make any recipes that take more than 10 minutes to make, so here we are.

But to be honest, I really love how these Christmas wreaths turned out. They look so elegant that it seems like it was a whole project to make, when in reality it took maybe 5-10 minutes.

This isn't so much of a recipe as it is an idea. You can sub in any chocolate you want, or any toppings you want for the wreaths. Anything you do will make an elegant last minute Christmas treat.

Another bonus of these wreaths is that I almost always have all of the ingredients at home. Take those pretzels that you were going to serve at your Christmas party, the white chocolate you put in all of your cookies and crush the candy canes you were going to hang all over your house.

Perfect, right?

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • mini pretzels
  • crushed candy canes

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips and the coconut oil in the microwave in 30 second intervals, mixing until smooth. Mix in the peppermint extract.
  • Place 6 mini pretzels in a circle on the prepared baking sheet, with the larger side in the centre. Dip the tops of the pretzels in the chocolate and place back on the parchment paper. Repeat for the rest of the pretzels.
  • Dip 6 more mini pretzels in the chocolate and place them on top of the 6 bottom pretzels, making sure to stagger the pretzels so that you can see the bottom layer. Sprinkle the top with crushed candy cane.
  • Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the white chocolate is done. Place the baking sheet in the freezer until hardened. Remove and store in a tupperware container.

These are too pretty. I'm already planning to make a big batch for Christmas for gifting. I bet they must be super cute as Christmas tree decoration too. 🙂
