I should really just call this site "A Taste of Oatmeal". Because that is all I have been making recently.

But now that the weather is starting to cool down, I think I am a little more justified in all of my oatmeal recipes than when I was making them during the summer.

You just watch. I will start making overnight oats in the winter, because my food cravings seem to oppose seasons. #sorrynotsorry.

This is the recipe to make to pack on the winter pounds. You know, get more insulation against the cold. It starts with this bowl of oatmeal.

It is sweetened with both honey AND white chocolate chips, but you can omit the honey if you want it less sweet. Or increase it if you have a major morning sweet tooth. In general, I like things a little less sweet than others. Hello, black coffee drinker here! So my tastes may be a little more bitter than yours. I always say, adjust to YOUR tastes. Everyone is different, so you should find what works for you.

What works for me is having both my coffee and my breakfast in one convenient bowl. Which is why when you look up mocha oatmeal on my site, you get a lot of results. It is a necessity on my busy weekday mornings.

And adding white chocolate chips to the mix? Be still my heart!!

I am actually one of those weirdos who doesn't really like white chocolate chips.

Okay, let's not go that far. What I really mean is if I had a choice between dark, milk or white chocolate, white would be my last choice. I LOVE chocolate, but I always find that white chocolate is sickeningly sweet. But paired with strong brewed coffee? Ahh, just perfect!

I am already planning on making it for breakfast tomorrow.

  1. I'm a fellow black coffee drinker I like things a touch on the bitter side too. Hence why dark chocolate is my favourite especially for baking but I would definitely try this as the coffee would dampen the sweet white chocolate right down.

  2. 5 stars
Haha😁 I am definitely with you on the white chocolate....I do not like it at ALl. But it sounds like it will really taste great with this oatmeal recipe with the added coffee. I have to try this out for breakfast tomorrow.
    Have a great weekend 😃
