I am always unsure what holiday season it is. Since it is 2 days after Valentine's Day, I assume we are moving into Easter? Does St Patrick's Day even get a season?

So now I am just thinking about what I can make for Easter brunch. And this Peeps Hot Chocolate is what is coming to mind.

I want to make it a family tradition to make something original with Peeps marshmallows. So this weekend, I went on the official Peeps website to see what ideas I could make, and I didn't find any Easter hot chocolate recipes. Well, I think I can fill that gap.

Peeps marshmallows are now my son's favorite candies, and he is requesting one every night for his dessert. Honestly, I don't blame him. I have yet to let him try this hot chocolate because I know that I will run out of marshmallows before the week is over. The wonderful combination of sweet colored sugar on the fluffy marshmallows, mixed with the rich hot chocolate makes this drink a favorite in my book! My husband was never really a fan of Peeps marshmallows, but after trying this hot chocolate, a new Peeps marshmallow lover was just born.

  • Peeps brand marshmallow candies

Tips

Use hot chocolate mix! Don't want to make the hot chocolate from scratch? Using your favorite hot chocolate mix works well here too! The individual packets work to replace each serving of this drink.

Replace the Peeps. While the Peeps fluffy marshmallow is the main attraction of this drink, you can definitely just replace it with mini marshmallows.

Alter the recipe for each season! Did you know that there is a different Peeps flavor for most seasons? I personally love the Candy Cane flavored Marshmallow Chicks around Christmas. You can also add your own personal flair by crushing peppermint candies or candy canes on top if you are making it for Christmas.

Make sure your stove isn't too hot. Burning the milk has definitely happened to me, and it can happen very easily if your stove is set too hot. Medium-low heat is ideal when making this drink.
