Small Cherry Nutella Cups with a juicy whole cherry in a creamy Nutella cup.

Last week, I bought a huge bag of cherries. I know that cherries are not yet in season, but it was the first time I saw them in the grocery stores and I knew that I had to have them!

Both of my children are crazy about cherries, so I knew that they would be eaten. But since I wanted a tasty sweet treat for my late night chocolate cravings, I thought that I would make some of these Cherry Nutella Cups.

They are so much fun to make, and are so easy too! I think that next time, I will add a little bit of almond extract to make these Nutella cups even more special.

Now I just need to make sure that I don't eat the entire batch all at once!

Cherry Nutella Cups Ingredients

These little cherry chocolates are only made with 3 simple ingredients. All you need is:

  • Nutella
  • coconut oil
  • fresh cherries

Equipment

A stack of Cherry Nutella Cups with a bite taken out of the top one showing the bright red center of the cherry.

Tips

Storage: Store any remaining chocolate cherry cups in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 5 months.

Make a grown up version. Replace the cherries with boozy cherries, or add some brandy or rum into the chocolate mixture.

Use paper liners. The Nutella will harden onto the muffin tin and will become impossible to remove. Make sure you line the mini muffin pan to ensure you can take them out easily.

Enhance the cherry flavor. Add a little bit of cherry jam or mix in some cherry juice to the Nutella cups.

    1. Unfortunately, coconut oil in this recipe is difficult to replace. If you have cocoa butter that would be a suitable replacement.
