Frozen Cherry Daiquiri

Easy Frozen Cherry Daiquiri recipe. This frozen cocktail makes a great refreshing drink for a hot summer evening, or Valentine's Day.

Frozen Cherry Daiquiri

It's that time of year. Valentine's day is just around the corner, and you are trying to think of a recipe for two that you can make for yourself and your loved one.

Might I suggest this Frozen Cherry Daiquiri. It makes 2 drinks, and it's always a hit!

Except for me, since I'm pregnant. It's just going to be virgin cocktails this Valentine's Day. My husband can drink both of them. If that doesn't say I love you, I don't know what does.

Frozen Cherry Daiquiri Ingredients

You just need a couple of simple ingredients to make the perfect drink for your happy hour. All you need to make this cherry daiquiri recipe is:

  • Frozen cherries - Frozen works best, but if you have fresh cherries you will need to add some more ice to this recipe.
  • Granulated sugar - Or ultra-fine sugar. Ultra-fine sugar dissolves easier than white sugar, but they both work well.
  • Fresh lemon juice - You can substitute bottled lemon juice, but it will not be as refreshing a drink.
  • Fresh lime juice - Similar to the lemon juice, you can use it from a bottle but it won't taste as good.
  • Rum - either white rum or light rum is fine.
  • A couple cups of ice - I like the extra plain ice cubes that come out of my fridge, but nugget ice works very well in this recipe too.
  • Lemon lime carbonated beverage - Drinks like Sprite or Starry work well here.

Tips

Try out different types of cherries! I made this daiquiri with sweet cherries, but tart cherries work really well if you wanted a more sour mix.

Add a wedge of lime to the rim of the glass. Not only will the drink look more elegant, whoever is drinking it can squeeze the lime wedge into their drink depending on their tastes.

A regular blender works fine for this recipe. I know a lot of the time recipes ask for high powered blenders. But I find that having a frozen daiquiri that is less smooth to be more enjoyable.

Variations

Use any type of frozen fruit. This recipe is so great because it is so versatile. Whether you want to make a blueberry or a strawberry daiquiri, switch up the cherries with whatever frozen fruit you have on hand.

Enhance the cherry flavor. If you wanted a more intense cherry taste, try making cherry ice cubes. Just add in some tart cherry juice to your ice cube trays and freeze until ready to use.
