I have so many recipes ready for you guys, but I haven't had the time to edit and write up the recipes yet.

Yes, that takes a lot of time thank you very much. And with report cards and exams coming up, work just keeps piling up all around me. But at least I am making dinner!

And I just want to say: thank goodness for my slow cooker! Working these long days means I almost never have the time to make dinner. But now that I have finally bought a slow cooker, I can put it in my slow cooker and Set 'n Forget it, as the name of my slow cooker appropriately puts it.

And this Crockpot Spicy Chicken Drumsticks recipe? This one is definitely a winner winner chicken dinner ;).

Normally, John is not a fan of drumsticks. Which I find super weird, because they were my favourite thing growing up. I would always reach for the drumsticks first. In fact, all three of us kids would be fighting over who got to eat the drumsticks. Until we realised that the thigh was the juiciest part. Then it was all about who would get the thigh.

Which is another thing John is weirded out by. His family is all about the white meat. I can't get enough of the dark meat. So buying a whole chicken is perfect for us.

But anyways! I made these Crockpot Spicy Chicken Drumsticks for him because I couldn't justify buying the chicken breasts when the drumsticks were on SUPER sale this week, so I thought that I would test it out on him. If he wants to eat something else, he can make it himself.

But John did NOT need to make anything himself. He was almost as obsessed with these Crockpot Spicy Chicken Drumsticks as I was. This whole batch was gone in two days. Split between two people. I'd say that's pretty impressive!

I used Frank's Red Hot Sauce (extra hot) on these, but even with ½ a cup of the hot sauce, we thought it wasn't spicy enough for us. So we added more after cooking.

But I know for the majority of people out there, this is spicy enough. And so easy to make too! With 6 ingredients, you really can't go wrong.

  1. Chicken is always a great idea, Cathleen! Your recipe is so mouth-watering and I will definitely give it a try. Can I use fresh onions for this recipe instead onion powder?

    1. I would stick with the onion powder, because you remove it and bake it for the last 30 minutes. But if you wanted to drizzle some of that spicy sauce on your chicken/rice after, then sure! Cook it with a fresh onion.

  2. This time of year the slow cooker is always my go-to device, set and forget meals are the best. I don't think some people realise how time-consuming blogging can be, especially food blogging. Good luck with the exam marking and blogging balancing act.
