Rainy days and Mondays always get me down.

Especially when they happen on the same day. I am drenched to the bone, which is always a great way to start the week. (I know. Internet sarcasm has almost zero effect)

But I feel like the best way to bring a sunny step into this gloomy day is to make smoothies.

Matcha has become my (maybe not so) recent obsession. I am drinking matcha fraps and lattes from Starbucks like my life depends on it, and am dreaming back to those days when I worked at a bubble tea place and made myself matcha milkshakes.

Those were the days...

But now buying matcha at home has revolutionized how I make drinks! I am now thinking of putting matcha into every smoothie I make from now on.

And this smoothie might be the most kick-ass smoothie of them all! It has two of the ingredients that usually top lists of "healthiest ingredients": blueberries and matcha. Seriously, I can't get enough.

With this in one hand and an umbrella in the other, I think I can bear the rainiest of Mondays from now on.

  1. I love matcha and every time spring rolls around I get homesick for Japan and have to buy some more along with some mochi and other favourite treats. I bet this smoothie has some kick with all of these antioxidants. Just pinned!

  2. I hope your weather has improved! We had loads of sunshine today, thankfully. But your lovely smoothie would help cheer me up on a gloomy day 🙂

  3. I love blueberries, which unfortunately is very costly in Malaysia. It's a real treat for me to have them and I love the colour of your smoothie. But matcha....I am not really a fan of that.

  4. I love smoothies, but have not tried matcha in one. Sounds great, I will have to give it a try.

  5. Hey Cathleen! Where do you get your matcha powder from? All the places I have seen it, they charge like a gazillion pounds for the stuff, but I really want to try it, espeeeecially after having seen this smoothie, yum! Blueberries are da bomb 😀 Hope you've had a good start to your week despite the iffy weather *hugs*
