My Ninja Slushi machine was running on overtime during the summer months. Between my Ninja Slushi Orange Julius and my 2 Ingredient Ninja Slushi Chocolate Milkshake, I can't stop making slushie drinks for me and the kids.

I'm hanging on to summer as much as I can by making this 2 Ingredient Ninja Slushi Creamsicle. It is one of my favorite recipes to make these days, since I almost always have all of the ingredients on hand. My kids have been asking me to make Ninja Slushi drinks every day this week, which makes this the perfect no-fuss recipe idea.

Key Ingredients

Heavy whipping cream and Sunkist orange soda on a marble kitchen counter.
  • Heavy cream: gives the drink that classic smooth and creamy flavor.
  • Orange soda: is the primary flavor and liquid base, giving the drink that sweet and citrusy flavor.

How To Make 2 Ingredient Ninja Slushi Creamsicle

A can of orange soda being poured into the vessel of a Ninja Slushi machine.

Step 1: Pour all of the ingredients into the vessel of your Ninja Slushi machine.

Step 2: Press the SLUSH preset, and process until the machine beeps. Serve immediately.

2 Ingredient Ninja Slushi Creamsicle Expert Tips

Make sure to dispense the drink right away. If you keep the machine running after it has beeped, the heavy cream will over-churn, which will give the drink a buttery texture instead of a smooth slushie.

After dispensing the drink, run the rinse cycle. This will prevent the dairy and soda from getting too sticky, and makes it so much easier to clean.

Pre-chill the ingredients. Make sure to store the Orange soda in the fridge before using to cut back on the processing time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use diet or sugar-free orange soda?

Yes, either will work well! Just keep in mind that the sugar affects the freezing point, so the slushie may process slightly faster or have a slightly firmer ice texture than if you were using regular soda.

How do I prevent the mixture from foaming too much?

Try your best to pour the orange soda into the vessel slowly and at an angle to prevent the drink from foaming before turning on the machine.

Do other soda flavors work with this recipe?

Some soda recipes that I think would work great in place of the orange soda is root beer, cream soda or grape soda.

Can I use half and half or milk in place of the heavy cream?

Half and half or whole milk would work in place of the heavy cream. I would recommend half and half since it will still have that creamy taste. Whole milk would make the slushy less rich and a little more icy.

Ingredients

  • 24 oz Orange soda
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Pour all of the ingredients into the vessel of the Ninja Slushi machine.
  • Select the slush preset.
  • Once the machine beeps, dispense and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Dispense the drink right away. This prevents the slushie from over-churning which will give the drink a buttery texture.
  2. After dispensing all of the drink, run a rinse cycle immediately. To ensure the dairy and sugary soda don't stick to the machine, making it extremely hard to clean, run the rinse cycle as soon as you finish dispensing the drink.
  3. You can replace the heavy cream with half and half for a slightly less creamy texture. This swap can also often prevent that buttery texture if you accidentally over-churn your drink.
