Maple Butter Latte Oatmeal

Fall is officially here in Chicago.

The weather is getting colder, the leaves are changing colour and the pumpkin flavours are all over the place.

Typically, I would be all over the pumpkins. But right now, I am going for the other fall flavours. This week, it's maple.

I bought a jar of maple butter on a whim from Quebec when I visited my sister. To be honest, I had no plans to use it for anything. I just bought it because I thought I needed a souvenir and Quebec sells SO many maple products that I thought it would be fitting.

The only problem is when I get back home. What to do with a jar of maple butter?

John isn't a huge maple fan, so it was all up to me to use it up.

And of course, when I need to use something up, I put it in oatmeal.

(In case you aren't aware, I make a LOT of oatmeal)

So what goes into this Maple Butter Latte Oatmeal?

All of my favourite ingredients to make oatmeal:

  • strong brewed coffee (ALWAYS have some in the fridge)
  • old fashioned oats (buy them 10 lbs at a time)
  • chia seeds

plus some maple butter and whipped cream. That's it!
