Pork Meatballs

Easy Pork Meatballs recipe. A great quick and simple dinner idea that is perfect for a weeknight meal. Serve it with spaghetti or mashed potatoes.

Pork Meatballs

Ever since the success of my Easy Meatballs in Dijon Gravy, I have been leaning into making more meatball recipes because it seems like that's what my audience wants to see.

Now I'm coming in hot with these Pork Meatballs. Just in time for a midweek meal that will help me get through the rest of the week.

This is the best meatball recipe that I have made using ground pork. We used to buy frozen pork meatballs, but I think that homemade meatballs are the way to go. They kind of remind me of the Swedish meatballs that I got at Ikea as a kid, but with a lot more flavor. The best part about these meatballs is that they aren't made with bread crumbs! I never seem to have any breadcrumbs at home, so this is a good meatball recipe for me.

Usually we eat the meatballs as is, but it it's a special occasion I will serve these flavorful meatballs with our favorite sauce or a dipping sauce (like marinara sauce). This makes a great weeknight dinner idea, or just a great recipe to make when you are short on time in general.

Tips

Storage: Store the cooked meatballs in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Make frozen meatballs. These juicy meatballs are also freezer friendly. If you want to freeze your leftover meatballs, all you need to do is allow them to cool completely. Then place on a baking sheet in a single layer and freeze until hard. Then place in a freezer bag and freeze for up to 2 months.

Variations

Switch up the ground meat in the meat mixture. You can actually use whatever lean meat you have on hand. Some great substitutes for ground pork include ground beef, ground turkey, ground chicken or ground veal. You can even use your favorite pre-seasoned sausage meat if you like.

Make it spicy. I love a good spicy meatball, so I usually add red pepper flakes to the mix. If you wanted something with a more medium heat, try adding in some paprika.

Add in your favorite herbs and spices. This is a good base recipe, but you can also jazz it up with more fresh herbs and spices. I love adding in some fresh ginger or some Italian seasoning, but I would suggest experimenting with different flavors until you get the best taste for you.
