Peanut Butter and Molasses Cookies

Easy Peanut Butter and Molasses Cookies recipe. This is the best dessert idea that I have made with molasses yet!

Peanut Butter and Molasses Cookies

Remember when I made my Soft Gingerbread Cookies because I had too many containers of molasses in my house? Well I also taste tested this Peanut Butter and Molasses Cookies recipe with my many containers of molasses. But I am only getting around to posting it now.

I am clearly taking this summer vacation very seriously.

What makes these cookies amazing? The molasses and the peanut butter really come together to make a unique and wonderful flavour combination that I am currently OBSESSED with.

Even after I tested this Peanut Butter and Molasses Cookies recipe to my liking, I kept making it. While I am regretting that now that I have limited new recipes to share with you, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Especially since I couldn't bring these cookies to work. I think that I may even make things with peanut butter on purpose, so that I get to eat it all myself.

But next year, my school is NOT a nut free school. So my excuses will go out the window. I will be forced to share! I guess I also need to share with my husband now that we are going to be living in the same city this year. He is the one that I REALLY need to look out for.

So what do you think? Should I keep a secret stash of these cookies in the freezer so John won't find them?

The number one problem I had when we used to live together was when I made cookies at night and left for work the next morning, John would eat them all before I got home. How disappointing is that?

Okay, so fine. That may not have been our number one problem. But this is one problem that a hidden cookie stash would definitely solve!

I just made these. Very delicious! I doubled the PB, the molasses and cinnamon and I used GF flour. I had never heard of peanut butter and molasses but I was craving both and happily came upon this recipe.

Definitely double it. I also got 17 cookies, and in a house of 4, that’s not enough.

I grated fresh ginger into the dough because I don’t have any dry. These cookies are exactly what I wanted. ❤️

  3. Discouraged by comments where they did not make the cookie. It is a good cookie, but the molasses cookie SPICES overpower any sign of peanut butter.

Agreed. I wish people would review a cookie after making it lol I'm going to make this recipe but omit the ginger & clove. I don't want it to taste like a gingerbread cookie. I want the peanut butter to be the star. But want to try the molasses for sure.

I highly recommend doubling recipe if you intend to share them with anyone that is. I formed balls from the dough and crisscrossed them with fork like traditional peanut butter cookies. Maybe my dough was a little stiff? Either way they turned out fabulous. Next time I’m going to add chocolate chips to half of the dough. Texture is perfect and they are practically health food.

  5. Just made a Batch! I love them. I appreciate that they are not real sweet. This allows the peanut butter and molasses to stand out.

  6. The recipe didn’t mention how many cookies it yielded. Using a medium scoop, I only got 17 cookies. I will use a smaller scoop next time or double the batch. These will go fast! Great combination of flavors!
