I have been sinking deeper and deeper into a state of sadness. Why, you all are probably wondering? Well, I have just finished grading the quizzes of the students in the first year calculus workshops that I’m running this year. And let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty.
I told myself at the beginning, right when I sat down to grade this huge stack in front of me, that I will not give anyone a zero. Turns out I had no choice. I mean, they are in university now, they should expect things to get tougher. I just didn’t want to discourage them by returning them their first quiz in calculus, and they got a zero. Maybe it will be more motivational than discouraging: showing them that they need to step it up if they want to pass.
I don’t know how teachers do it. Grade quizzes I mean. It shook me to the core, because I was just thinking about what my reaction would be if I saw a zero on anything I have written. I think I might have a mild heart attack.
So I had to make me a quick and easy pick me up. And a smoothie is the best hug on a rough day.
What you’ll need:
-1/2 cup blueberries, frozen
-1/2 cup blackberries, frozen
-1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
-1/4 cup milk
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a blender, and puree until smooth.
looks delicious!
