Matcha White Hot Chocolate

Cozy season is upon us, and all I want to do is cozy up on the couch with a warm blanket, a good book and a cup of this Matcha White Hot Chocolate.
The key to this Matcha White Hot Chocolate is to get a good quality matcha. I have tried a lot of matcha powders in the past. And when I say a lot, I mean they took up an entire section in my cupboard. But until a couple of months ago, I haven't really found one that I liked.
That is, until I tried Aprika Life Matcha. Honestly I like it so much that I have a monthly subscription for it on Amazon!! you can tell how good it is by the rich colour of the powder. Trust me on this one and check it out! It makes a world of difference.
My favorite thing about this matcha hot chocolate is that you can pair it with so many things! My favorite thing to pair it with are French Cruller Doughnuts. Nothing gets better than a matcha drink and a doughnut in my opinion.
What do you need to make this Matcha White Hot Chocolate?
Not much at all! All you need is:
- milk
- white chocolate chips
- matcha powder
- vanilla extract

Matcha White Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon matcha powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk until warm. Keep a careful eye on it to avoid burning.
- Remove milk from heat, then add in the white chocolate chips. Using a handheld milk frother, mix the milk and white chocolate together until smooth.
- Add in the matcha powder and vanilla extract and whisk with the handheld milk frother until smooth.
- Pour into two mugs and top with marshmallows, if desired.

In the last year or so, I've definitely developed an addiction to matcha! This white hot chocolate was a delicious way to enjoy it with some different flavors. I absolutely loved it!

I've had matcha with a shot of espresso but someone never tried matcha with chocolate. I'm glad I did, it was so good! The white chocolate gave it a hint of sweetness and chocolatey flavor without being too overpowering.

Once I found the right chocolate chips, this recipe turned out really well. Just a head's up for buying white chocolate chips... they are not all the same and some don't melt! Once I found the right kind, I really enjoyed this flavour combination.
