When I woke up this morning, I experienced something that I haven’t felt in such a long time: reluctance to get out of bed. I am a MAJOR morning person, and I usually have no problem jumping right out of bed, and starting the day all fresh and bright. But today?

It was cold and really dark, and I didn’t feel like I should leave the comfort of my own bed. Because, you know, my bed was soooo much warmer. When I finally dragged myself out of bed, of course needed to reward myself. And if you start your day with Nutella, it will definitely make up for the fact that you needed to be out the door by 6AM.

These Nutella Pancakes are so easy to make too! All you need is:
- milk & vinegar (or replace with buttermilk)
- flour
- sugar
- butter
- egg
- baking soda
- baking powder
- nutella
That’s it!

Usually when I want a Nutella kick in the morning, I will make my peanut butter nutella microwave oatmeal. But when you want to share the Nutella love with others, these pancakes are perfect.
Plus, I love freezing these pancakes. All you need to do is lay them out on wire racks. Once they are cooled, put them in freezer bags and voila! When you want pancakes, all you need to do is toast them in your toaster.
So on those days when getting out of bed is hard for you, you can reach into the freezer for some quick and easy toaster pancakes! That is, if you can make them last that long!

Nutella Pancakes
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp white vinegar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 2 Tbsp salted butter, melted
- 2 Tbsp Nutella
- cooking spray
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the milk and the vinegar, and let stand for at least 5 minutes to “sour”
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk egg and butter into the “soured” milk. Pour the flour mixture into the wet ingredients, and whisk it together until the batter is smooth. Mix in the Nutella until fully incorporated.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and spray with cooking spray. Scoop 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake, and flip when bubbles are covering the surface of the pancake. Flip and cook the other side until it is golden.
Easy to make and fluffy and delicious to eat. Perfect and Happy Breakfast for the start of an awesome day. Nutella sounds so yum too.
I’m all about Nutella in the morning 🙂
Adding nutella to pancakes is every person’s dream idea. My son is so going to love this.
I’m sure he would! Thanks Rachna 🙂
Nutella pancakes? I can’t think of a better way to start the day. Best reason ever to crawl out from under the covers. Better yet, maybe I can talk my husband into making them for me and bringing me breakfast in bed.
Haha, that’s a great plan!!
Perfect for a weekend breakfast for my two nutella loving kids!
Agree! So good 🙂
My favorite Nutella in a big stack of pancakes for breakfast, yes, please! This is my kind of way to start the day.
Agree! Thanks Sharon 🙂
I'm usually a morning person, too – But, it gets harder when it gets colder and darker…. These pancakes are definitely a great cure for that! Yum!
I am NOT a morning person but I would run out of bed for these pancakes!! YUM.
I'm the opposite, I hate mornings. I can't drag my butt out of bed everyday! But for these, hell yes! My kids are going to go wild when I make these bad boys for them. They'll love me forever now! Thanks for sharing.
