This Ninja Creami Cherry Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream is such an easy ice cream recipe, making it a delicious dessert for a hot summer day.
Since my oldest son is a huge cherry lover, I am always trying to think of different recipes involving cherries that I could be making. And this creamy chocolate cherry ice cream is one of my favorites so far.
I kind of feel bad that I am basically only using my Ninja Creami machine to make regular ice cream. My husband bought me the deluxe model specifically to try out the other options that the Ninja Creami machine offers, but I always revert back to a plain old ice cream. But this Ninja Creami Cherry Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream is not just any old ice cream. It is such a delicious way to satisfy my sweet tooth, and it is only made with 6 ingredients! Also, since it doesn’t use fresh cherries, you can make this ice cream all year round. I would call that a win in my books!

Tips
Add in some fresh fruit. Along with the chocolate, you can mix in some fresh cherries. After the first spin, make a hole in the center of the ice cream and put in the chocolate and around 1/4 cup of cherries. Press the mix-in button to give it the best texture. Feel free to add in some extra cherry pieces after the spinning process is done for more of a cherry flavor.
Can I use heavy cream? I personally can’t tell the difference between making ice cream with heavy cream vs half and half. However, I have had some issues with heavy cream giving the texture of butter after spinning it, so I use half and half to avoid that issue.
Make it vegan. Use plant based cream instead of the half and half and non-dairy milk instead of regular milk. Make sure that the chocolate chips are also vegan.
Experiment with different extract flavors. Adding in a teaspoon of vanilla extract is always classic addition to make it taste like a cherry vanilla ice cream. I would also try experimenting with almond extract or rum extract for a different spin on this ice cream.
