Peppermint Oreo Truffle Cups recipe made with only 4 ingredients. These are so easy to make, they are a great dessert or snack idea for Christmas or St. Patrick’s Day.
So… can you tell I like chocolate yet?
Looking through my most recent posts, 8 out of the past 10 have had some kind of chocolate in it. And the only reason the other two didn’t have chocolate in it was because one was crockpot spicy chicken drumsticks and the other was roasted carrots, potatoes and beets. Two recipes that are a little difficult to add chocolate to.
And then, there are these Peppermint Oreo Truffle Cups. I don’t know if I will be making too many chocolate recipes after this, because this recipe is perfection.
What do you need for this Peppermint Oreo Truffle Cups recipe?
First you will need a food processor. My favourite food processor is this one, which is what I use on the regular. It is also pretty cheap as food processors go, and has lasted me a long time.
Next: peppermint oreos!! I haven’t seen these sold in Canada until a couple of weeks ago, so I grabbed as many packs as could fit in my basket. People must think I gave up on my New Years resolutions a little early this year.
Another reason why I would love to live in the States. You walk into a 7-11 and they have more flavours of oreos than you can find in all of Toronto. I make 99.9% of my decisions based off of food, so wherever I am moving next you can bet that I will be weighing in on if there is a good enough grocery store by our place.
Next up, your cream cheese. You know it is going to be good when you add cream cheese! I choose full fat because, if you are going to be making truffles, you are already putting in a ton of chocolate into the mix. May as well use the good stuff to make it worth it. But, if you are still holding strong on your resolutions, low fat works as well.
Pulse it up real good in your food processor, then form little coins. And do yourself a favour and taste test. Like, a lot. All for research sake, right? No one needs to know.
Melting the chocolate for this recipe is one of my favourite parts. After pouring the chocolate into the muffin tin, I get the rest of the bowl to lick clean. And trust me when I say that the bowl gets very clean after I am done with it.
I like to keep these Peppermint Oreo Truffle Cups in the freezer because the chocolate is hard, but it keeps the inside soft. I love biting into cold chocolate, but if you want to you can keep it in your fridge for a softer feel. I am definitely making this again for St. Patrick’s day. That is, if I can make my peppermint oreos last that long!!

Such a delicious way to enjoy Peppermint Oreos. Loving this truffles idea.
Me too! I can’t get enough chocolate!
I am craving chocolate right now and look what I have come across. No but for real these look delicious.
Thanks Melissa! I am always craving chocolate 🙂
The New Year has just began and you’re already tempting me with these delicious treats? Curses! Better start jogging more to make up for these yummy treats.
Haha, they are so worth it.
The U.K. is the same with Oreos, they have only started selling mint, peanut butter, strawberry cheesecake and golden ones in the last 18 months. We never get the special seasonal ones you see in the USA. Which is probably a good thing for my waistline! These look fab and I know they wouldn’t last long around me.
True. But the UK has such amazing chocolate for so cheap! I bring back half a suitcase every time I visit!
These look and sound good. What a unique recipe. My problem with Oreos is to keep everyone away from them until I have time to make delicious stuff, like your truffles, with them. I’m guilty of this too though so I can’t get mad.
Haha!! I totally understand. That sounds like my house!
That is a really great snack. Mint Oreos are one of the best, hands down.
They are so good!! I can’t believe they don’t sell them everywhere!
