Split Pea and Ham Soup
This quick and easy Split Pea and Ham Soup recipe is my favourite way to use up leftover ham. Made hearty with potatoes, carrots and celery.

Ingredients
2
cups
dried split peas
7
cups
water
1
teaspoon
canola oil
2
cups
fully cooked ham,
cubed
1
cup
carrots,
chopped
1
cup
celery,
chopped
1
cup
potato,
peeled and diced
½
teaspoon
salt
½
teaspoon
ground pepper
Instructions
In a large saucepan, bring the split peas, water and oil to a boil.
Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 1 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add in the remaining ingredients, cover and simmer for another 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
