Strawberry Spinach Salad

What have I been eating lately? Burgers? Fries? Things that I can get my hands on fast and easy so I don't need to worry about taking time to prepare something.

Well, I think I definitely need to reconsider my priorities. Or reconsider my food choices.

I never knew how delicious and easy making a salad was! Well, I guess I did know it was easy considering my salad making past.

Let me take you through the process of me making a salad prior to this delicious creation.

1.Walk into a grocery store.
2. Buy romaine lettuce.
3. Wash and break up the lettuce
4. Put it in a bowl. Voila. Salad is done.

Needless to say I was a little boring when it comes to making salad. But after making this, I will reconsider my usual go-to salad.

What you'll need:

-2 tablespoons sesame seeds
-1/4 cup white sugar
-1/2 cup olive oil
-1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
-1/4 teaspoon chipotle
-1/4 teaspoon worchestershire sauce
-1 tablespoon onion, minced
-4 cups spinach
-2 cups strawberries, fresh, washed and sliced
-1/4 cup almonds

    1.   In a medium bowl, whisk together the sesame seeds, sugar, olive oil, vinegar, chipotle, worchestershire sauce and onion. Cover and chill for at least one hour.
    2.   In a large bowl, combine the spinach, strawberries and almonds. Pour dressing over salad and toss.

  7. I love putting strawberries in salad! Try roasting them sometime (just toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and roast in 400 degree oven until they're done to your liking) - terrific flavor, and they work so well in salads (balsamic vinegar is great). Anyway, love the salad you've put together - good stuff! Thanks.

  8. That looks like a great alternative to a burger, and much better for you!
