So these cookies: they were meant to happen. Me making them? It’s fate I tell you!
Why you might ask? Well, I’m not one to believe in fate or destiny. I like to think that I have some sort of choice with what goes on in my life, but this my friends was fate.
I go into my kitchen and absentmindedly take an egg out of my fridge and break it open into a bowl. I don’t know why I do it, I guess it’s just a habit. I look into the bowl at by newly cracked jumbo egg, and lo and behold, it is a double yolker.
Staring back at those big yellow eyes, I wonder what I should do with it. I had nothing in mind when I cracked it. Luckily, I had my handwritten recipes right beside me, open to this very recipe. I made this a while back, and I remembered them being awesome. They didn’t disappoint the second time around.
So while the cookies were baking, I obviously saved some cookie dough to eat by myself in a bowl. In front of my computer. Watching the movie Up. While shamelessly crying my eyes out. What can I say? I had no control over my actions. I guess it must have been fate.

What you’ll need:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
-3/4 cup butter, melted
-1 cup brown sugar, packed
-1/2 cup white sugar
-1 tablespoon vanilla extract
-1 egg yolk
-2 cups chocolate chips
1. Preheat the oven to 320˚F.
2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour and baking soda.
3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and the sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, egg yolk and vanilla. Slowly mix in the flour mixture until fully incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips.
4. Scoop the batter onto a prepared baking sheet, and bake for around 15-17 minutes, or until the edges are browned.
